HOW LONG????

Whats that you say??.........Its been HOW LONG since I last posted????.....................Thanks to the friends that have given me a gentle little push back in the right direction. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, cant say Im gonna be any better at keeping up with this, now that that darn Facebook has come back into my life! Silly quizes!!!
Anyways, so much has been happening around here lately. Ive been on a mad scrapping binge (including an overnight crop which I got home from at 4am!!), Cam had his third birthday, Lachie has been playing rugby, Ray and I have taken up learning to play the bagpipes, we have had Uncle Bully (Rays brother Darren) staying with us while he gets his life back on track. And now it is the school holidays.....groan! Will endeavour to keep you informed with regular updates, but probably wouldnt suggest you hold your breath.............

Scrap Camp

I know, I know...Im really slack and STILL havent posted the photos of Islas christening and Cams first day at kindy......but I just had to come tell you.....only ONE SLEEP TO GO TILL SCRAP CAMP!!!!!!!!! Im tooo excited!!! I probably wont be able to sleep! Will visit again on Monday and hopefully show you what I achieved over the weekend!

Oh gosh...We have been so busy lately! I barely have time to sit and think about what we are up to next! Will just do a very quick update then Im off to bed! Getting really late! Will try to get back here tomorrow to post photos!
K, so, on 1 March we had Isla's Baptism. What a beautiful day it was and what a fantastic wee girl we got! She was so well behaved! And GORGEOUS!! Not that Im at all biased!!
On 2 March, Cam did his first kids triathlon....go little man!! He was so utterly cute!!! So determined to try to catch up with all the big kids!! He had to go in the 4 year old age group as it was the youngest and there is a huge difference in size between an almost three and almost 5 year old!! And Cam is such a little weenie anyway!! He spent half his time looking round to see if anyone was behind him! FUNNY!!!
Then on 9 March, CAM STARTED AFTERNOON KINDY!!! Yep.....hes a big boy now!!
Oh no....I have to go...Cam and Isla arent well and Cam is crying in bed. Just chest coughs but unhappy in himself.

Going for gold!!

WOW!!! Im doing really well with my no buy challenge. I have done another 4 LOs and 2 cards! Only problem with the cards is that they dont get to go into my card box!! Hopefully one day I will be able to make cards and not have any birthdays or anything that I need to use them for!! LOL.

I did buy some scrapping stuff last night......HOWEVER, it was to make gifts for 2 people so it doesnt count.......right????

Here is a LO I did last night....it is Pennys (at SW) sketch challenge. Im quite pleased with how it turned out. Ive done another two LOs using the same sketch. Oh, cant really see it very well....

It ways....MWAH and there is hidden journalling on the tag. Cam loves giving Isla heaps of kisses and alway says...."More" (MWAH!) Gosh, he can be so cute sometimes!

Got three, count them....THREE.... cyber crops this weekend!! One of them involves a game of bingo and I also have a wedding to go look at. Trina (Lachies kindy teacher) is getting married. Im so excited but Im gonna be one very busy chickie! So will say toodle pip for now and get on with my day!

A WEEK???

Gosh, has it been a week already since I last posted?? I cant believe how quickly time is going!! Ok, so I got tagged again....but since I already did the 6th photo in the 6th folder, this time I think I might do......the 10th photo in the 10th folder....hmmmmm, lets see where this takes us?.....Phew!! Thank goodness for that!! Its not a totally humiliating photo!! This is us waiting at LAX for our flight home in July 2008. Lachie is incredibly sunburnt from a day in the pool (while I was packing our bags) with NO SUNCREAM ON!! I just didnt even think about it because I had a list in my mind of everything I had to do and obviously Ray didnt think about it either!! Dont remember where Cam was, he wasnt with me and he wasnt swimming so didnt get burnt. See Isla tucked away in my belly there!! (There you go Louise.....one of our trip photos!!!!! LOL)

Heaps happening at the moment but not really anything terribly exciting.

Lachie started back at his triathlons last Monday and really enjoyed it this year. He has been doing them for the last two summers (since he just turned three) but this time he got into it. He was so cute.....he had finished and was standing in line to get his certificate, yoghurt, banana and juice and he says to me "Mummy, did you see me? I went really fast ay" AAAWWW Gorgeous!!

On Tuesday was Poppa Jac's first birthday. Happy birthday, little man! We had been to his party at the park on the Sunday so no celebrations that day. It would also have been Nana's 92nd birthday and it was the anniversary of the day I found out I was preggy with Isla!! Gosh, what a day!

On the Wednesday, Lachie had his first cricket training session. I didnt go, (cant remember why....oh I know....Mum and Dad were coming round for roast lamb for dinner and cricket was at 5.30 so I needed to stay and cook tea!) but Ray got Mum to take some photos and they didnt turn out too bad.....Oh, they must be still on my camera...havent downloaded them yet. Well, next time I will put the cricket photos on. He didnt have triathlon this week cos it was raining but he is off to cricket tomorrow and Ray is working, so, looks like Cam and Isla are doing to their first cricket training too!!! Will take my big lens and get some real closeup photos.

Black Friday saw Ray and I going out for dinner WITHOUT children!! What a treat!! We went to Pompeii Pizza for Kates 40th. Man....it was so scrummy! Expensive (and couldnt afford to go there again in a hurry) but scrummy!!!

Valentines Day is a no-go-zone in our house. I sound like such a killjoy jut it is such a waste of money!! I love Ray and he loves me so why do we need to prove that we love each other on that particular day, when we can prove it any other day!?? Bah, humbug ay!

Then yesterday (16th) was my daddys birthday! Happy Birthday to you, Pa! The big "Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when Im" 64.WOW!! I cant believe it!! It sounds quite old yet he seems so young!

Lachie is getting better at going to school. He only asked me 6 times this morning why I had to leave him at school and go home! He is doing REALLY well with his reading and it seems like he has been at it for more than only one week! Im so proud of him!

And the kindy teachers said to me today that Cam could start kindy in the middle of March. I told them I dont mind waiting till after the school holidays (after Anzac Day) cos I cant really see the point in him going for a few weeks then having a few weeks off. Then again, it could be good....by the end of the term he might need a break. He is such a little weenie...he is far too little to go to kindy!!

Isla is four months old today and today she giggled!!! She is such a gorgeous wee princess, we all just love her sooooo much!!

I hope I still say that when she comes home at 16 and tells me she is pregnant....like just happened to one of my high school friends!!!! A grandmother at 36!!!! Can you believe it!!?? Oh dear oh dear....what is this world coming to???

Scrapping wise, Im doing a bit lately. Lots of card making, but they dont get to stay in my box very long before they are needed!!! :-( Have done 15 of my 30 UYS and am working on another two!! YAY!!!

Well, my friends. It is way past my bed time...Cam and Isla are both sick (Isla chest cough and Cam, I think might have tonsillitis? Might have to get to Drs tomorrow) and although Isla is sleeping fine, Cam is quite unsettled. Having said that, the past few nights, once Im asleep there is no waking me! Sleeping like a baby, as it were!! LOL

So my sixth photo is this one: We were around at mums house back in 2007 and Lachie was having fun playing outside with Charlotte the dog. Now I am supposed to tag 6 friends but I dont have 6 other blogger friends that havent already been tagged so I will just have to do the couple that I can think of....Amy and Sandra.

Happy 7th wedding anniversary my darling Ray. Yep, its that time again and too boot....Our big boy started school today!!! I couldnt have been more proud of him!! But I really cant believe how quickly the last 5 years have passed!!!He looks so handsome in his school uniform, with his Lightening McQueen backpack on his back and his little camoflage lunchbox/chilly bag thingy. Here, let me show you.....

Doesnt he just look TOO little to be going to big school??!! He called into kindy on the way home to show the teachers how handsome he looked in his school uniform and they informed me it wont be too long before Cam starts at afternoon kindy!! (between 6 and 8 weeks) Gosh, what will I do with myself when I only have Isla at home for three afternoons a week and the boys gone?? Might actually get some scrapping done??!! Or it could be nice girly time!!

Yesterday we had his "Going to school" birthday party. It was so much fun. We hired a bouncy castle, played "Pass the parcel" (and yes, although every child got a prize - there was a WINNER!!) and we had a Lightening McQueen pinata. That was HILARIOUS!! Should have seen the kiddies with it. But boy can those little kids whack a stick round!! Even blindfolded!! Lachie got completely spoilt and got some REALLY cool gifts....the skateboard,Ben 10 and Hot Wheels were definately the winners on the day!

And the countdown is on till Scrap Camp....only 8 weeks to go and I have to have done my 21 LOs to use my stash by then!! I have made two cards this weekend but not done any LOs. I am all inspired at the moment to do a First day of School one. Wonder how long that will last??LOL

Righto, better get going to bed...its after midnight and I got to go to the horrible dentist tomorrow and get him to sort out my sore tooth. Its been sore for ages....since before we went to the States but Ive been putting it off until now...when it feels like my jaw is on fire and I cant sleep!! Yikes...wonder how much he will charge? Oh man, I dont even want to think about it!!!!

Isla is sleeping and I have kicked the boys outside and locked the door...LOL...I wish! They would just knock until I lose the plot! Anyway....will try again with the photos....here we go... "Twinkle" was loosly based on a sketch I found the other day(...now where was it? It is either from Josie, SW or SBO....sorry cant remember. I really should have noted where from and who the LO was by so I could give credit where it is due) It is Isla's ultrasound scan photo.

"Me & Dad" was based on a Josie Dean LO (hope you dont mind Josie....I like your style and I can get pages done quickly so I have "lifted" you ALOT!!)

"In good hands" is SW SBS challenge number 21 from about May 2008. "Pretty Girl" is based on the same Josie Dean LO as "Me and Dad" . I started it at Shirleys crop on Friday night but just finished it yesterday. I had a butterfly picture that I decided to make into a cardboard template so I could use it over again......well, that took me about 2 hours on Friday night cos the cardboard wastoo thick and I couldnt get my little craft knife through it! What a drama!! But doesnt it look great now that it is done!! "Chicken Pox" is very loosely based on a SBO LO I saw (sorry, dont know who did the original). Poor wee Cammi, he really got the pox bad!! He had them EVERYWHERE!! And they were particularly bad where is nappy sits!"Little Sister" was the last LO I did for the night (at about 10.30 and Im not entirely happy with it....but it is done and another page in the album!! It is a sketch challenge from, I think, SBO. So there you have it....my contribution to the kids albums so far this year and as I say.......9 down....only 21 to go!!!!

What a machine!

Wow!! I had a scrapping day yesterday and I completed 7 (count them......SEVEN!!!!!!) LOs!!!! Oh and a card!! The card was originally based on Josie Deans (from SW) UYS challenge but took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up with this.......

And here is my LO marathon....Might have to put the photos on two posts...will see how I go...Hmmmm its actually taking AGES to upload the piccies....might even have to post them later when I have more time....just trying to get Isla off to sleep and Lachie just jammed Cams fingers in the bathroom door!!! When does school start again??? Cant wait!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if kindy would take Lachie this week?? Just till he starts school....hes bored!! Its 8am....

And all my family are still asleep!!! I cant believe it!! Ray worked last night so he willbe sleeping all day to work again tonight, and with it being the school holidays I let the boys stay up a bit later than normal, Isla has been up for her morning feed, gone back to bed and I am in heaven!!! Enjoying the quiet that will soon be destroyed!


On Sunday we went to Foxton Beach to my MILs to visit Rays brother and his family. They have a new little daughter, Michaela, who is 5 1/2 months old and it was really lovely to meet her. Got some cute photos of the girls together and a cute one of Michaela and her daddy.Awwww how gorgeous are these girls!!

Eureka!!!Ive got it!!

Ok...so I seem to have got the handle of the photo posting...Yay computer illiterate me!!

During the school hols, I have been almost tearing my hair out trying to think of things to do with the boys to keep them occupied and not pushing my buttons!! On Tuesday I decided to take them to Te Manawa (our local museum) to see the exhibits there. Turned out it was a motorcycle exhibit....hmmmm, not to my taste but the boys loved it and had their photo taken with *the worlds fastest indian". It was of course a replica, the one used in the movie of the same name. I actually quite enjoyed it, didnt think I would!! Darrell, Lisa and Joshua came too so that was fun. After the motorbikes, we went into the "hall of mirrors" and the kids zone. We had a great day and had LOADS of laughs with the mirrors, as you can well imagine. I just LOVE this photo of Lisa...I think it is soooooo cool! Tried the same with all the other kids but Lis seemed to have her face at a better angle than any of the boys could get to get such an effective photo!

Then on Thursday, Isla had her 12 week jabs. Oh man!!! She is such a treasure!!! Sandra (my scrapping buddy) pricked her with the needle and Isla didnt even bat an eyelid!! The second prick she let out a little wee whimper and THAT was it!!! I couldnt believe it!! Both the boys absolutely SCREAMED blue murder!! Not this trouper! What a big brave girl!! Here are some photos of her having the injection and then, literally, seconds afterwards with NO TEARS!!! Smiles even!!

That night, Daddy and Lachie went "camping" in the backyard. They had great fun, toasting marshmellows, giggling like little girls :-D funny times.

Gosh has it been *that* long??

I cant believe it! It seemed like the novelty of the blog wore off real quick but really, in all honesty, I was just a little bit miffed with the whole photo thing! With only having dial-up it was taking SOOOOOO looooooooong to resize the photos I wanted to put on here that I conceded defeat! So now I take special photos on Rays small camera and Im a bit happier.

So, Im doing ok in my UYS challenge to myself... I have done 2 LOs and made a card and didnt buy ANYTHING to do them!! Not flash LOs but done nonetheless. The first LO is of Lachies kindy xmas party. Santa had just been to visit and the boys are opening their gifts. Lachie got a ship-shaped paint set and Cam got a red ball. The second LO is the first in Islas album...Im sure I have already done a LO with her on it but do you think I can find it?? Must do that!!

Then there is a card I made for little Miss Danika for her first birthday. Not bad for a slap-up job about an hour before the party started! Wasnt going to make a card but then remembered my stash clallenge and saved a heap of money making it!! And it doesnt look too bad, if I do say so myself! LOL

OK, so I am just going to have a little play at posting photos onto my new blog. Today was Lachies 5th birthday. It was his special birthday cos he turned 5 on the 5th and off to school to boot. He woke up to a new bike sitting in the lounge waiting for him. Couldnt keep the smile off his precious wee face! He went for a big bike ride this morning with Daddy (well, Daddy was walking) and loved it but for some reason the front tyre keeps going flat so Ray will have to take it back to the bike shop and sort it out! You dont pay $245 for a decent bike only for it to crap out in less than 24 hours!!! I think poor Cam was feeling a little deprived as he kept trying to get on the big bike....oh dear...well, he inherits Lachies smaller bike now so that should keep him happy for a while! Auntie Nicky and Uncle Niels came round to visit in the arvo bringing with them Christmas present for Lachie as well as bday pressie!!! It was a STACK of Lego which Lachie just loves!!! And Cam is enjoying the little pieces too, just by the way!!! Then this evening we went out for dinner. We went to Cobb & Co and it was really nice. Cam made a wee girlfriend named Eden (love that name!) and Nanni and Poppi gave Lachie a soccer set with net/goal, cones to dribble round and little goalies! It is tres cool!!! I made a very quickly thrown together cake with a couple of lollies on it. Lachie chose the icing colour.....hmmmmmm.....niiiiiiiiiice!!!
Right better get going, its 11.30pm and I getting a little tired! Must try to get photos on here....wish me luck! Think photos might have been too big...will try again tomorrow.

One word

OK, so in the tradition of Ali Edwards one word for the year, would it be cheating if I have more than one word?? I need one for my personal/home life (DECLUTTER) and one for my scrapbooking life (NO NEW, MAKE DO) !! I should take before and after photos of my house to show the process but I am completely embarrassed about the "before" state of my place! Im hoping that wont take all year to achieve but it really will be a huge job!!!
As for scrapping....I have to complete AT LEAST 30 pages before I am allowed to purchase any new supplies! That is going to be a challenge cos I DO like to scrap shop!! But, honestly, I have enough supplies to last probably 100 pages and STILL not run out!! So that is me. I must go scrap but before I do I just need to pop to the shop to get that great paper I saw for my mini album............LOL, just kidding....it starts NOW!!!!

OMG!!! I cant believe it!! What am I thinking??? I have finally succumbed to the temptation to start a blog!! I dont know how regularly I will add to it, or even WHAT I will put in here but I have started!! Yay me??
